Support SB 1396
Senate Bill 1396 could provide over $11 million in flexibility - including $8 million that will otherwise be lost - to LBUSD during a 3-year pilot program. This money would be essential in preserving jobs and maintaining an effective instructional program for students.
We need your help! Attached is a sample letter addressed to State Senator Alan Lowenthal. He is the author of SB 1396, and he needs letters of support to show his fellow legislators that we are in favor of the bill's passage. Please tailor the attached letter and send it to Senator Lowenthal - from individuals and advocacy groups - as soon as possible. Ideally, these letters will get to Senator Lowenthal by the end of March, at the latest.

Furloughs and Benefits
| At the recent ALBEM meeting at Prisk, Sandie Abraham and Debbie Ecung gave a general overview of our current status on these two issues. The specifics of each situation are still in flux, and will not be decided for several more weeks. If you have any specific questions, feel free to contact Mike Bowles, the executive director of ALBEM, at bowles2861@socal.rr.com |
